Longbeach Road Board,
The usual monthly meeting of the Longbeach Road Board was heUl at the Board s room, Burnett Street, this morning.
Owing to the absence of the chairman (Mr .1. C. N. Grigg) the chair was occupied hv Mr J, Bishop. There were al<o present— Messrs Qt. W. Body, J. W. Stoddart, and W. T. Lill. -
CORRESPONDENCE.
From the Clerk, Ashburfcon County Council, re Fitzgerald's traction engine and cost of same crossing the bridge. If a local body applied for the use of engine, the County Council would make a concession for the crossing of the bridge.— Received.
From 8. S. Chapman, Chairman School Committee, enclosing account of £1 9s 4d for disinfecting schoolroom. — Account passed for payment. An application from a ratepayer for well alteration was granted.
geaham's road. It was decided to water Ghraham's Bead before it was rolled. TENDERS. The tender of Mr N. Fitzgerald fo* shingling 1000 yards of Beach Eoad waa left over until nest meeting, unless the Clerk could arrange for the work to be dons at Is 6d per square yard. WORKS. A. discussion took place with reference to certain roads which required shingling, etc. ■ BATE. On the motion of Mr Lill> the rate was struck ab |d of Id in the £, and Messrs Lill and Stoddart were appointed to sign the rate book.
WINSLOW-WINDERMERE SOAD. Mr Stoddart suggested that a petition be drawn up and signed, asking the County Council to take over the Winslow-Winder-mere Road. There had been a deal of trouble about the road. The Chairman said the County Council had been asked to do that before.
Mr Lill remarked that if the County Council did take the Road over, other Boards would make similar requests. The matter then dropped, no action, being taken. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £202 9a 2d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
