Unveiling Troopers' Memorial.
CEREMONY.' AT ST. MARY'S
Despite the unfa(V.ourAblo weather there was a large attendance of ' the public at St. Mary's Churchyard this afternoon to witness the unveiling of the memorial to Taranaki Troopers who fell in the South African War.
The troops who took part in the ceremony included the local corps and cadets, and the Wjaitaara, lnglewood, and Stratford Companies of the Volunteer service ; returned Troopers from South Africa ; and Imperial and Old Taranaiki Volunteer Y<etoransi The Military pjaralded at the Drill Hall at 2 o'clock, an;"d, headed by the Qarr.ison Band, mjarched to St. Clary's. The ceremony at the monument included religious obter.viances* antl music-, addresses by ihe Mayor and General Babington. The hyroinis given during the ceremony were, " The Church's- One F-oun-dation ;" " The Son. .of God Gioes forth to War ;" arid " BqcJc of Ages Cleft for Me." Thm~ ceremony concluded with National Anthem..
