The latter was soon done with, and from the Abingdon Mile Bottom the other pair ran home a fine finish. Sloan came up hand over hand on Chevening, causing Jones to sit down and ride his hardest. Not in the least flurried, and never attempting to pick his whip up, he .rode the colt home with his hands.
