Into the straight Altair came with a clear lead, whilst Sea Fog began to improve his position, and took second place at the distance, but he failed to reach Altair, who won in a canter by half a dozen lengths; a length and ahalf between second and third. Dunover colt settled down* from Florida II and Income colt to the distance, where the latter took Becond place, but was to a certain extent interfered with, and Cannon, having to ease his mount, Dunover colt won by half a j length ; three parts of a length between second and third. An objection followed on the grounds of crossing and foul riding. The stewards went into the case at once, disqualifying Dunover colt, and suspending Martin for the remainder of the meeting; and further announcing their intention to report him to the stewards of the Jockey Club. A quarter of a mile from home Merry Methodist held a three lengths' lead of-Jubert, Royal Flush being next, and then came Clarehaven and Sirenia, with Greenan and Light Comedy following in front of Millennium and Goblet. At the bend for home Meiry Methodist was still in front, Royal Flush now going on second, followed by Jubert, Clarehaven, and Sirenia, A hundred and fifty yards from home the lastnamed took second place, and in a close race got the better of Merry Methodist, and won by a-short head; three lengths between second and third.
