NOTES FROM, EVERYWHERE TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP Valmarina, who was engaged in the Kihikihi Hack Handicap and the Waipa Plate at Te Awamutu to-day, wag scratched yesterday. The Ascot Gold Cup winner, Felicitation, ran his last race when he won the Jockey Club Cup, 2J jjiiles. at Newmarket on November 1 and is to be retired to the stud. Felicitation is to stand at the Egerton Stud in the 1935 season at a fee of 250 guineas. J. S. Shaw has not definitely decided what to do with Rebel Star, who is at present spoiling, but probably he will have' tho gelding operated upon for wind trouble. On the other hand, he might not persevere with him. If bo, Rebel Star will take up duties as a station hack. Tareha created a favourable impression when he won the hurdle race on the second day of the. recent Woodville meeting and he is expected to add to his record in the near future, Tareha is an aged gelding by Cape Horn from Whakakahea, and is owned by Mr. W Henderson, of Waipukurau. First Dance, wlu is engaged in the Kihikihi Hack' Handicap at Te Awamutu today. has not had a great deal of racing, but she displayed promise when she won the Flying Stakes at Rotorua last February. First Dance is a four-year-old maro by Spear Dance from Marble Town and is owned and trained by R. J. Mateer.

The five-year-old Record Flight, whose form on the Oat has not reached expectations, is expected to have his first race as a hurdler in the Pirongia Hurdles at Te Awamutu to-day. Record Flight is a good stamp of gelding by Lucullus from Gold Plane and his looks and breeding indicate that he may make a capable jumper, no that much interest will centre in his performance to-day.

Lobengula, the big Night liaid—Zany two-year-old, whom Mr. K. Austin sent to Melbourne last month, attracted favourable notice on his arrival. His 6ize would command attention for him anywhere, as in appearance he is very much like Phar Lar>. by the same aire Lobengula lias gone into the stable cf Victoria's most successful trainer, J. Holt, who is very pleased with his early experience of the colt.
