Palm, Limulus, Maine and Aussie Ra should all run well, and there are others capable of bringing off a surprise. The favourites may be CYCLONIC, SEA FOX, PALM or LIMULUS. S.2O—BALMORAL STAKES, Of £350; two-year-olds; 5 fur. st. lb. et. lb. Silver Coat 8 13 Boomerang . . 7 9 ; Legatee ... 8 9 Entail . 7 8 Severe . . .88 Hunting Scene 7 5 Pakanui ... 8 5 Alchemic ..74 Fairfax ... 8 2 Carpathia ..74 Round Up . 8 2 Ilida .... 7 4 Haut Monde . 8 2 Bun Fight ..70 Penelope . . 712 Going Gay ..70 Kotou ... 7 9 Nightlass 7 0 Eight of the acceptors are winners, while several arc liable tp improve. Silver Coat looks a better colt than he did at the New Zealand Cup meeting. Fancies are likely to take a wide range, but investors may show a preference for HAUT MONDE. SEVERE. PAKANUI. 8.7 DUKE OF GLOUCESTER HANDICAP, Of £700; 1 mile 3 fur. st. lb. et. lb. Vintage . . . 9 C Might ... 7 d Gay Marigold . 8 8 Rocket . .76 Solarium . .88 Copper King . 7 2 Gold Trail . 8 8 Caliente ... 7 0 Grand Jury . 8 5 Cardinal Moon 7 0 Spiral ... 8 5 Illuminate ..70 Cricket Bat . 8 3 Manetho ..70' Sweet Agnes . 712 Red Sun ..70 Southdown . . 7 12 Semper Paratus 7 0 Passion Fruit 7 11 North and South Island form will be hard to assess, but the running of Vintage in the Fendaßon aud Metropolitan Handicaps looked good class, as also did that of Gold Trail, Southdown and Passion Fruit at the same meeting, while Passion Fruit has since won twice in succession. The company he has beaten may not be good, bUt. lie is on the improve. Gay Marigold and Solarium have their Auckland successes to .recommend them. Cricket Bat is a likely improver. The best supported may be GOLD TRAIL, VINTAGE. SOUTHDOWN. 3.S2—TRENTHAM STAKES, Of £100; three-year-olds; colts and geldings 8.10, fillies 8.5; 1 mile st. lb. st. lb. Sporting Blood 8 10 Canopy .... 8 5 Synagogue . . 8 10 Lady Ivyra ..85 This race appears to be a duel between Sporting Blood and Synagogue. Canopy and Lady Kyra have not shown form to suggest that either of them is good enough. Synagogue has undoubtedly improved, but Sporting Blood has also gone on in the right way. Only the race will prove the correctness of tho opinion, but until deposed the right of favouritism goes to SPORTING BLOOD. 4.39—BLEDISLOE STAKES, Of £100; 7 fur. st. lb. st. lb. Golden Wings 9 4 Inflation ... 7 11 Autopay ... 9 3 Rebel Chief . 7 11 Red Manfred . 8 9 Princess Doreen 7 8 Diatomous . 8 1 Miladi ... 7 6 Cadland . .80 Movie Star ... 7 5 Pomp . . . .80 Cottesmore ..70 Slippery . .-.80 Gay some 7 0 Copyist ... 7 12 Hunting Lodge 7 0 Cranford . . 7 11 Silver Ring's lameness removes the leading performer from the Bledisloe Stakes, but it iB still a good field. Golden Wings and Red Manfred will receive support on account of their recent work at Woodville. Red Manfred is bnck at a distance well within his compass. Autopay is working well again and will have a chance if ho gets away. Diatomous should improve on his form at Feilding, and old Cudland, on the way be worked this morning, might not. be a forlorn hope. L. G. Morris anticipates that the old fellow will'make a very bold showing. Slippery, Copyist, Crntiford, Hebel Chief. Princess Doreen and possibly Gfiysonie will have friends. Most money may conic for GOLDEN WINGS, CRANFORD, RED MANFRED. S.22—WINDSOR HACK HANDICAP, Of £.100; 1 mile st. lb. st. lb. Cuddle ... 9 5 Courtega 7 9 Went Tor ..90 Arctic King . 7 0 Pango . . . 8 fi Mhs Hushabye 7 6 Korero . . 8 8 Maroha ..73 Final Shot , . b fi Safari 7 2 Peschiera . 8 0 Wheluma 7 2 Wasteland 8 5 Grand Blow 7 0 Cardinal Moon 8 2 Horn's Reef . 7 0 Hunting Go . 8 1 Purse ... 7 0 Poniard ...SO Htale Bank 7 0 Dorado 7 10 Umpire 7 0 This race gives Cuddle another chance to add to her recent winning record. She is in first-class order and with luck she will be in tho picture. West Tor shaped well at Woodville and on his form against Gold Trail there will be one of the favourites. Other prospects appear in Pango, Final Shot, Hunting Go, Poniard and Miss Hushabye. Hunting Go worked particularly well this morning. The favourites may be WEST TOR. HUNTING GO, CUDDLE.
