The highest temperature ever recorded in Perth was registered yesterday— 113 degrees. Other centres, registered up to 117 degrees. . A large_ ice works, a two-storied accommodation house, and a butcher's shop at East Freroantlo were gutted by fire. With the intense heat the fire fighters had no chance of savinc tho block. '
