NEWMARKET COUNCIL.

The Xewmarket Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. S. Donaldson, presiding. Postal Facilities—The chief postmasterwrote stating that the system of mail delivery in Khyber Pass would be rearranged to give the business places at the foot of the street better service. Traffic.—'Die traffic inspector reported having issued 1140 licenses during the first nine months of the year. Heavy traffic licenses returned £078 for the quarter ended August 31, and a further £58 since September 1. Railway Street Closed.—The Railway Department advised that Railway Street had been, fenced off, and the Sarawia. Street crossing opened. Highways Funds—Mr. R. T.
