THE DEPARTURE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES FOR CANADA ON AUGUST 5.—The Royal train in which the Prince travelled from London, accompanied by the King and Queen, Princess Mary, Prince Albert and Prince Henry, arrives at Portsmouth Dock, where the Royal Party is given a great reception from the officers and men of the cruiser Renown, one of the “Hush Ships” built during the war, in which the Prince embarked for Canada. Before the cruiser took her departure the Prince of Wales’ flag was hoisted on the Renown in place of the Royal Standard. It was the first time his flag had been flown on a warship and the first time the Prince was afloat as a captain of the Navy.
