THE RESULT OF TORRENTIAL RAIN—A FLOODED LANE IN AUCKLAND. Auckland was visited by a downpour of rain last Saturday week of .such tropical volume that the lower pan of Queen street was for a space converted into a river, which boiled round some of the corners in a yellow flood more than knee deep. Damage to the extent of some thousands resulted from the flooding of cellars in which goods were stored. Our illustration shows a flooded lane between Fort and Customs streets.
