The party which took part in the historical trip to Otaki visited different parts of Waikanae and heard some interesting facts about the township from Messrs N. L. Elder and I. Brewer. They are shown above on the hills east of Waikanae, from where good views of the township and the green, pleasant stretches of bush and farmland surrounding it are obtained. Waikanae Beach and Kapiti Island are in the background.
