BANKSIES BLOCKHOUSE.
We call it Banksies Blockhouse ' Tis neither squt de nor round, nor .A thing of rugged majesty oblong Now 1 will tell you the story It has no likeness on this Of how this eyesore came to be. earth Lets hope the-time will never With shovels of our Grand Dads come A hole to dig we went For it to prove its worth. Our picks were stone age relics Very blunt and badly bent. Its fronted up with sandbags And. cornered o'er wi ch dirt .raved and cussed and sweated Lets hope it holds together As we slaved in the noonday sun Or someone will get hurt. Through rock as hard as bloody flint And clay like chewing gum. Now Bankshie was its creator ■ He visualised the plan At last the pit was finished He organised its construction T’was deep and ten foot- square As only Bankshie can. From this the Blockhouse overflows One look will Gray your hair. It has good ventilation Through a hole just one foot 'Tie made of 3 inch timber square Held firm with 2 inch nails So no .one justly can aomplain With 12 X}’sas doorsteps Of a scarcity of air. And 6 X 9 « as rail s.
Now when we leave this island We’ll tack on it a plate Reading 14 You’ve aeon the worlds seven wonders Now gaze upon the eighth. At last it was erected And the- landscape it did mar Someone said, is it finished And Banke murmured " YAH ".
