Boxers Training.
The heavyweight- professional boxers, Don Mullett (Wellington) and -Danny O’Keefe, an overseas serviceman, have started training for the 12-round contest they are to have at Athletic Park on the night of October 3. Both are doing. theii training at Anton Koolman’s gymnasium daily, O’Keefe from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Mullett from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Servicemen’s Hostels. The two hostels for servicemen in Wellington are being kept busy, according to reports before the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee yesterday. At the Sydney Street Hostel''during August 951 beds were provided and 2807 meals. At Dixon Street, in the three weeks since the opening covered by the report, 1354 beds and 1430 meals were provided. The committee expressed its appreciation of the great service rendered by voluntary workers in the erection of beds at the Dixon Street establishment.
