flew over Germany to Scotland was sighted and reported by two fighter pilots, one of them a New Zealander, Flight Lieutenant Alan Deere, D.F.C. and bar (Wanganui), who has shot down 17 Nazis. “I was up after hi,in, but that is all I am allowed to say.” was the Wanganui boy’s comment. It was stated in the House .of Commons by the Secretary for 'Air, Sir Archibald Sinclair, that R.A.F. pilots were on the trail of the German aircraft over Scotland.
