AT AUCKLAND / 7“’ The Rugby season in Auckland was Opened on Saturday .afternoon, the principal attraction being the match between a combined fifteen from the Papakura and Ngarua camps, and a team representing the 28 th Maori Battalion from Palmerston North. The combined team won by 18 points to 3, scoring four triesthree converted, to an unconverted try Scorers for the combined team were: Bombardier W. J. Kirkley (2). Gunner R. J. Paterson, and Second-Lieutenant C. S. Pepper. Trooper K. J. Hanna converted three. Corporal E. N. Howell score;! for the Maoris.
