WHAT OF THE FUTURE
For more than two years now, men from all over the Empire have been fighting a battle for .the cause of peace, freedom and individual liberty. The Army, the Navy and the /Air Force have all been working together to this end and. today we see the results, on land we are gaining victories over the Axis powers which are bringing us to the final victory; on sea3the Navy is keeping the seas free for the passage of troops and vital supplies to all parts of the world; in the air, the Air Force is playing a prominent role in defence and attack. It is the Air Force which is hammering the enemy factories and supply lines. It is the Air Force which harrasses the troops on the battle field and' plays havoc with the ground defences. In all branches, the men in
blue are all-important ... observation and scouting, bombing, ground-strafing and combating the Axis air menace. Theirs is an exacting and essential task/ Ours is likewise of utmost importance. We provide for the Senior Branch of the service, personnel already partially trained. In doing this, much time in instruction in elementary drill and practical work is saved and as a result, the A.T.C. is invaluable in the training of air personnel.
This message is for all you cadets who read it... .make the most of your opportunities, do your work honestly and well, and in the end when you join the R.N.Z,A.F., aquit yourselves with distinction and prove the contention that ‘The A.T.C. is the finest training ground for all young air men.’’ 1
