DAILY DEVOTIONS OF CONVENTION
Prepared by Mr*. Knauft The Convention opened on the Thursday af Ur noon with Devotions conducted by the Dominion \ ice-Presi-dent, Mrs. Tooiner. The stirring h>nui “Forward he our Watchword,” was sung, followed by a specially prepared responsive reading, and prayer. On Friday morning, delegates gathered in the Church of Christ for a Communion service, conducted by Mr. H C. Bischoff, whose message was taken from Fphestatis chapter 4, wherein Christians are exhorted to keep unity of the Spirit. In gathering together in such a Communion service, there was a special unity of Christians who had come together as a Women s C hristia.ll Temperance Union in Christ, and this was symbolic of the wonderful way in which the Churches have come together in recent years. Organisations such as oyrs have pioneered this work and hast helloed to bring about this bond of fellowship in our Lord, for we are all one in Christ Jesus. On Saturday morning, Mrs. 1 Lett's subject, “What God is like" was based on John 14:1-14. People wonder what God is ’ike in this world of trouble and distress. The likeness of God shcuid enter into our lift and by our own likeness to our Lord, we should show’ forth His glory. Christ being in the form of God, was made in the likeness of men. Our common work He can make divine. Everyday fellowship with a loving Father can make our lives worthwhile. God’s anger at sin did not change His love for the sinner for He died that we might be forgiven. Let us have a complete trust in God and pray for tbc faith that removes mountains. Love supplies with outstretched hand to meet the needs of a stricken wo*ld.
on Monday morning, the Devotions were conducted by Miss Kirk, .who spoke from 1 Corinthians 13, verse 11. It is to build a firm and sure foundation, which is Christ. We must build with the best of materials, w;ith beauty, rare, unity in Christ, building expectantly, graciously, hopefully, joy-
fully, prayerfully, always ready to oppose evil, unitedly and victoriously. We should build with zeal that God's Kingdom may be extended and His name glorified. * On the final Tnorning of Tuesday, Mrs. Shannan took as her theme, “Now is the Hour." This will appear in full in the "Devotional Period” next month. Brief afternoon devotions were conducted by Mrs. McMillan and Mrs. Josephs
