IN MEMORIAM

Mrs. Rosser. Auckland Union. Mrs. Rosser was a loved and faithful member of the Auckland Union for many years, and kept up her membership to the last, although she has lived “up north” for some years. She was a devoted and energetic worker and took a deep interest in the work of the Union, ever ready to do her part and to go the “second mile.” She was our pianist. She was also an earnest worker in the Pitt Street Methodist Church, taking an active interest in all its activities.

Her memory is very fragrant to all those who knew her God has taken her to the joy of His presence. Our loving sympathy is extended to the members of her family in their sorrow. N.D.

Miss E. Mathieson. Auckland Union In the passing of Miss E. Mathieson of Auckland, on October 12th, 1946, we lost a very loyal and valued worker, and the Dominion “Y” work, Auckland District particularly, will greatly miss her untiring service. Although handicapped by a great physical disability, (having been stricken with infantile paralysis at the age of seven,) she was ever ready to give a helping hand. Never did she allow her lameness to hinder her from doing her duty.

The members of Newton East Mission will ever remember her friendship and co-operation throughout the years.

She was also interested in Band of Hope work, and rarely missed a meeting. Sometimes it was not an easy task for her to attend in all sorts of weather.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. A. S. Wilson, who spoke of the quiet unassuming way in which she went alxnit the King’s business. A memorial service was held in the Newton East Mission, when several friends testified to her help in the various spheres of Christian service.

Surely it shall be said of her: “She hath done what she could.”
