The White Ribbon. “For God, and Home, and Humanity." WELLINGTON, MAY 18, 1941. “WHITE RIBBON” DAY.

June 15th is one of our notable days. It marks the month in which our official organ was first issued. We hope all Unions will celebrate this day. Special meetings are difficult to arrange at these times and if you cannit arrange a special meeting give as much time as possible at your monthly meeting to recalling what our paper has done in the past and planning to help it to greater works in the future. l.ach Union will receive a paper which has been prepared by Miss Atkinson, our Associate Editor. This is to he read at your meeting and a collection is to he taken up in aid of the "White Ribbon” Fund and posted to our Business Manager, Mrs. Grigg.

War conditions have made the work of continuing the paper difficult. From a small eight-i«ge leaflet it had developed into a sixteen-page “White Ribbon,” four-page "Beacon” for our A workers, and a small four-page in>et for the children’s work. This I'ttle paper has a large circulation among Sunday Schools and school children. One district pays for 750 copies to he given away, and two others pay for 400 each. This paper Rots into homes where no other temperance literature has entrance. Also many C.R. Superintendents enclose one ol these papers with their birthday cards.

Now increased costs have forced us to reduce the size of our paper, and jnstead of a sixteen-page paper with "Beacon” and Y.P. Supplement extra, *il fias been included in the sixteen Pages. The staff of the paper are \cry anxious to keep the Y.P. Supplement s till as a separate paper loose in the

"White Ribbon” so that it can he passed on to L.T.L.’s and Band of Hope leaders as desired. Also it would give two extra pages for the "White Ribbon” itself. This little Supplement is doing truly educative work among the young, and we feel that there are friends of temperance who would not desire this good work to stop for lack of funds. £SO extra a year would pay all costs for this and enable the Supplement to be issued free as in the past. £so—Are there 10 friends of little ones among our readers who could give £5, or a larger number send amounts? Individual donations, not Union collections, hut give as you have received to help keep our children’s work at its high level. What about it?
