l>fur Comrades, — I For your encouragement, I send the Li lowing, from "The Herald,' an Auckland paper: I "The poll taken among purer.** or Ihildren attending the public schools In liaigaville in connection with the in■roduction of the Nelson system of Bible leading in schools, resulted as follows: I For the proposal, 135; against, 54. Between 70 and 30 parents did not relurn their voting papers. The result lull be forwarded to the Auckland Eduction Board, and permission sought to IntivKluce the system, which will be |t A ken up by the Ministers’ Association, Lf I Xirgaville.” 1 was speaking to a lTesbytcnai; minister this morning, who, with nve Lther ministers, attends an Auckland chool every Tuesday morning to give I Bible lessons. He says, ‘‘lt works admirably.” During eight years he has never found any difficulty with teachers or parents. He also agrees with our organisation, that we should embrace every facility we have at present. People generally, and members or Parliament, will then realise how very smoothly it works. May I suggest that members of Unions in every town or district wait upon the ministers of different denominations asking them to inaugurate the Nelson system, until such tim- as the Religious Exercises in Schools Bill is on the Statute Books of New Zealand, a Bill that has behind it an overwhelming weight of public opinion. MARGA RET <\ COOK. Dominion Suirt. Bible in Schools. Southland Education Board has also £iven permission again for Bible reading 111 schools, after years of refusal. —Ed. "W.R.”
