The Christian Advocate tells this story: “A passenger on a steamer from Bombay to Loudon asked the captain whether liquor could be procured at Zanzibar, where the vessel was to touch. The captain answered. ‘Yes. vou can get it. J know Zanzibar well, aud the Mohammedans form the greater part of its ruling community. The Mohauiiuedm: law is against the taking of sliong drink, so that the only way you can get drink in Zanzibar is by making « declaration that you nre a Christian.’ ”
