BACKBLOCKS AND WORK AMONG RAILWAYMEN.
Supt.: Mrs Moyes. In Nelson we have as a Union distributed the “Vanguard” in this city, as well as to the backhlocks, and filling the station boxes with all interesting literature. Quite a number of our members have taken a dozen “Van guards” each month for free distribution. and 'the local Superintendent has sent out parcels to the sawmills, etc. Some of our Unions have done well this
year.* Christchurch especially has taken up this work heartily, sending out parcels to the Otira and workers’ camps. These have been sent out each month, and must have an influence for good amongst the men. If each Union would appoint a Superintendent and take up this work, 1 fee! that much would l»e accomplished. It is only by educating the people on the great question of Temperance that we can gain the victory. Let each and all of us do what we can to make this year our victory year.
