An Open Letter.

THE WILLARD WORKERS. Dear Friends, Many enquiries having been made to me respecting the working of the socie:y called “The Willard Workers,’ 1 send a copy of our ru’es, which may he modified or enlarged as needs require. 1. Each worker signs the pledge card of W.C.T.U.

2. Each worker promises to work some article for an annual drawingroom sale, to be held cn Memorial Day (February 17th), when possible. Mate'ials used not to cost less than is.

3. Only unmarried ladies are eligible, with the exception of Chairman, who should he a member of W.C.T.U.

4. When workers many, they are to be transferred to W.C.T.U.

5 Meetings to be held from 3 to 5 p.m., not less seldom than once in four weeks and to be opened with Bible reading and prayer. 6. A paper or short article to be re ad and discussed at each meeting on Miss Willard’s Life, Gambling, Drink, Dress, Purity, Dancing, Theatre-going, etc. ; needlework being done during the same 7. The meetings to be made as educational and interesting as possible, and any members of the W.C.T.U. to be welcomed as guests. 8. All members expected to do a share towards making the society a help and benefit to each worker and also to outsiders. 9. The society to be luled by a small Committee with Secretary and Chairman. I might say that at our last meeting, I was greatly pleased by one “ worker ” suggesting that we start a Band of Mope amongst children who neither attend Sunday School nor Church, and other “ workers ” promising h> lp. Another object in view is to raise funds for a Temperance Hall and free Reading Room. Will you kindly allow me to add, that my son in India is recovering, though slowly, from his serious illness ; and that I can never forget the sympathy and kindness shown to me at Convention.

Yours sincerely, 11. E. Oi DHAM, Chairman of “ The Willard Workers.’ Lucy Road, Napier.
