The monthly faceting of the Rotorua' branch of the Church of England/Men 's Society was held on June 30th at Rahdwick, House." There was a good attendance, including a number of visitors. The Rev; H. L. BL. Goertz presided, and an able paper on " The Church and Industrial Problems," by Sergeant Lewis, was read by Sergt.-Major Taylor, the writer of the paper being: unavoidably absent from Rotorua. An interesting discussion followed and a- vote of thanks Was passed to the author and the reader of the paper, ' The first meeting of the neWlyformed St. Luke's Young Men's Club was held m the Parish Hall on. July 7th. The' meeting was purely a business one. The following officers were elected :-r-President, Rev. .Canon Chatterton, 8.D.; vice-president). Rev. H. B. Goertz, C.F. ;' Messrs Young and Mitchell. Mr John Boord was elected chairman of the committee for a period of three months, and Messrg *W. A. Carter and A. Owen, secretary and treasurer respectively. It was resolved ythat the committee consist of the president and vice-presidents, secretary and treasurer, Messrs Boord, John, Jervis, and Alfred Tattersall. It. was decided to meet every alternate Wednesday m -the Parish Hall. The Rev. H. B. goertz and Mr Mitchell were appointed to draW' up draft .syllabus, which/will be submitted to the club at its next meeting.
