A SELECTIVE LIST OF ACQUISITIONS, JANUARY 1988 TO DECEMBER 1989

Acquisitions of oral history sound recordings will be listed selectively in the Turnbull Library Record at two-yearly intervals. The principal finding aid for oral history is a database on the kiwinet system. The majority of recent accessions can be searched by using the database. For items marked ‘Restricted’, or not notified as being searchable on the kiwinet Oral History Database, the Library would prefer advance notification from intending researchers, preferably with a likely date. amp society ltd. The aim was to collect resource material on the history of an era of librarianship when the resources of the nation’s libraries became accessible to people outside the cities. electricity centenary. Oral History Project. 70 cassettes and 23 abstracts, donation: Ministry of Works and Development. Life history interviews with twenty-three former Ministry of Works, Electricity Department and Electric Power Board staff involved in dam construction and the development of electricity generation and distribution in New Zealand. Recorded by Oral History Archive Trust members, and commissioned by the then Ministry of Works and Development as a project to mark the centenary of the introduction of electric power generation in New Zealand. Life history interviews with representatives of four generations of two families (Stoneham and Mete-Kingi) from Putiki, Wanganui, financed and recorded by the Oral History Archive Trust.
