National Publicity Studios Displays at Gisborne During the week of the Maori Women's Welfare League Conference at Gisborne, local residents had the opportunity to see the work being done by carpentry apprentices from Wellington, under the guidance of Mr Stan Hunt, and of the carving apprentices from Rotorua, taught by master carver, Mr John Taipa. Here Mrs Esme Tombleson, M.P. for Gisborne, and Miss Jo Dawson, in charge of the girls' pre-employment course at Wellington, are pictured with Mr John Taiapa, Korako Arahanga of Ngai Tahu, and Junior Honotopu of Ngati Porou.
