FATHER RIORDAN A priest whose life was dedicated to the welfare of the Maori people, and an outstanding preacher and public speaker, the Rev. James John Riordan, S.M., died suddenly last August. Father Riordan was born in 1896 and worked as a priest in the Maori missions of the Wellington archdiocese. His greatest achievement was the establishment of Hato Paora College at Feilding. He was awarded the C.M.G. in 1949. He was the founder of the Ngati Riatana Club in Wellington.
