A Whinging Pom?
Well, congratulations on looking out the window and discovering the world of Pulp. They’ve only been performing and releasing records for over a decade now. But the anal New Zealand record buying public catch on, as usual, well behind the rest of the world. This is the album true Pulp fans dread. Jarvis is showing his age and this is the end. So, not only do we, the common people, have to watch the dying throes of a great band, but now ring-licks such as John Taite (and his wank-rag review) have to prod it with a verbal stick. For years now great bands from Britain have been ignored in this country; Suede, Pulp, the Verve, Stone Roses, Manic Street Preachers, the Charlatans, the Smiths etc. I don’t know why. And this country has nothing of international standard. Take the recent Music Awards —
what a pathetic dingy little affair it was. Nobodies being congratulated on nothing. This magazine is a top offender. Pulp have never headlined in your cut and paste articles because until it’s mainstream, it’s not alternative.
