JANE’S ADDICTION RELAPSE
Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro (RHCP) and drummer Steve Perkins have announced that their former group will reunite temporarily for USA tour in October with RHCP bassist Flea. Two new Jane's Addiction albums will be released in October — a live album (1989-91) in and an album of rarities with two new tracks. Jane’s Addiction’s bassist Eric Avery is too busy with his new band Polar Bear to be involved in the relapse. Farrell is also working simultaneously on the next Porno For Pyros album. Flea and Navarro ' will commence work on the next Red Hot Chili Peppers album in the New Year. ; 125 SECURITY MEN FOR SNOOP Snoop Doggy Dogg is on the USA Lollapalooza tour with a 125 man Nation of Islam • security force. Snoop is getting a mixed reception on a line-up which also features Tool, Tricky, Eels, Korn, Orbital and James. “For those who enjoyed it, we thank them,” says Snoop. “For those who didn’t enjoy it, fuck ’em.” The murder of Tupac Shakur has prompted Snoop to write a movie Doin’ Too Much based on his own experiences.
JOHN CALE MIXES GARAGELAND Garageland have recorded a new single 'Feel Alright’ in London with Alan Moulder . (Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Elastica) producing and John Cale (Velvet Underground) mixing. Cale also played-some piano and viola on the single. The next UK single for Garageland will be an Alan Moulder produced new version of ‘Nude Star’. The band • have recently been in New York where they have signed to new indie Foodchain Records for a September release of their debut album Last Exit to Garageland. Ben Grosse has remixed ‘Fingerpops’ for USA release. The new single ‘Feel Alright’ will be released locally in October.
