BOYZONE
Said and Done (Polygram) Sad and done more likely. Yeah, more nancy boy pop from a bunch of Take That wannabes. How do I know? Because I thought it was Take That who did the Cat Stevens cover I hear on the radio — but it’s actually these guys. Okay, maybe I’m being overly harsh (it’s probably the ‘pinup’ photos in the inner sleeve), because
these guys do in fact write a lot of their own material, which puts them ahead of most of those other pretty boy studio produced bands. If this is your cup of tea (I prefer coffee — black and strong), then you won’t be disappointed. Thirteen tracks in all, ranging from Britpop to ballad, from a bunch of guys who can actually sing (which also puts them ahead of most of those other pretty boy, studio produced bands).
