ILLITERATE GREEN DUH

To Someone Who Definitely Won’t Be At the Green Day Concert on Febuary 15 (December issue), I hold nothing against your opinion that Mike Dirnt is a hypocrite (although I don’t believe he is), but when I read: ‘lt’s obvious you don’t put deeper thought into what you spew out to these mostly decent magazines,’ I realised just how much of an idiot you are. Mike Dirnt and the rest of Green Day are punks! P-U-N-K-S. Perhaps you should put deeper thought into the nature of the people you write about and why Mike would purposefully say what he says in such interviews. Also, you claimed Silverchair to be the best band ever created. Oh, how I sighed when I read this. Sure, I admire Silverchair’s ability to sing and play for their age, but you can’t compare them to the older and more learned band players and singers of today. Silverchair are simply a shitless, unoriginal grunge/alternative group (like many others today) trying to become stars in the wake of the beautiful, beautiful Nirvana. The only reason Silverchair are liked is because a few pretty boy or girl sheep of the world liked and bought the tape, and of course, when one of the flock do something, the others follow. I’m sorry to have to write such a letter of put downs, but I had to give my opinion. And to end my letter, I leave you all with a valid piece of advice — sheeps of the world, listen up. Perhaps if you be yourself, dress your own way and like what music you like, then the other sheeps will follow and be their selves, dress their way and like the music they like, and forget about what’s cool,, rad, in, or whatever. The Cat In The Hat, Kaikohe. PS: NOFX, Blur, Supergrass, Oasis, and Souls of Mischief are pretty good to listen to, and Sepultra and The Beatles are also nice.
