Nixons benefit concert
Whoops! Stupid us. Last month we forgot to mention the plight of Auckland band the Nixons, who had a Toyota van and $65,000 worth of musical equipment stolen from Northcote on December 13. Over a month later, there’s been no word on the whereabouts of the gear, so the band are holding an all ages benefit concert at the Powerstation on Friday February 10, to raise funds to purchase new equipment. Other bands appearing on the bill are Semi Lemon Kola and Balance, plus surprise special guests.
The items stolen are as follows:
1987 Toyota Commuter Van (12 seater) — tan with a brown racing stripe — registration PX 3680.
Rack mounted effects (one only, unless specified): Alesis Quadraverb, Roland SDE 3000 Delay, Yamaha SPX 900, Yamaha SPX 50, Alesis 3630 Compressor, Roland SDE 1000 delay, Yamaha 31 band dual EQ, 2x SMSB microphones, SMS7 microphone, AKG Dll2 microphone, DEP 3, Sony DCT 750 DAT recorder, Sony Discman, AKGk3OO Headphones, DOD mono compressor, UREI 1176 compressor. All effects were in a roadcase.
Guitar equipment: VOX AC3O - 1963 top boost re-issue, with Celestion Gl2 Greenback speakers. Mint condition. In roadcase. Marshall JMP 50w Master Volume Head — No ‘Marshall’ logo. In roadcase. Marshall 1969 — A 4x12 Cabinet. Adapted for stereo. Vinyl ripped back to wood on top. In Roadcase. In Effects roadcase: including pedal board with patch leads, power connectors and tuner. Containing Boss pedals: (one only, unless specified). DD-3 Digital Delay (grey/blue), BF-2 Flanger (purple), PH-2 Super phaser (bright green), PN-2 Tremelo pan (light green) T 4957054018283, 2x LS-2 line selector (white) T 4957054022846, Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer (green). An Original, not a re-issue.
In Gig bag: Boss Pedals (one only, unless specified) — CS-3 Compression Sustainer (dark blue), AW-2 Auto Wah, OC-2 Octave Pedal, SD-1 Super Overdrive, Shure SM-58 microphone. Plus various other power adapters, power leads, guitar leads, strings etc.
Bass gear: 1969 Ampeg SVT Bass Head, silver grill with no Ampeg logo on grill. In roadcase. Ampeg Bxlo speaker cabinet. Late model with tears in vinyl on right hand front. In red roadcase. Rickenbacker bass guitar. 4001 1963 re-issue. Natural finish. In SKC plastic moulded case. In Gig Bag (one only, unless specified): Blue speaker lead, Long SVT power lead — tagged with phone number (09) 480-5952, 3x guitar leads, BOSS TU-12 Tuner, DOD A/B box. Lighting equipment: (One only unless specified): 4x PAR 56 lighting cans, 4x PAR 56 lighting cans (square, floor mounted type), 2xlsm power leads, White Lightning Strobe, strobe controller, 4ch lighting desk, 2x T-bar lighting stands, 4x lighting floor mounts (turtles), 8x Colour frames.
Drum equipment: Pearl Masters Studio drums, finished in a dark green, semi-transper-ant laquer. 3x Toms:10”xl0’’ in black case with ‘l.Jones’ stenciled on it, 10’’xl2” in original cardboard box, 14”xl6” in dark blue canvas bag. lx Bass Drum: 16”x20”- in black case with T. Jones’ stenciled on it. Has black Aquarian head with a 5” porthole. Inside drum is a black Evans EQ3 cushion mounted on velcro strips. Pearl Free Floating Maple Piccolo Snare Drum. Plain wood laquer. Stamped on the drum ports and written in indelible ink is: MRP 3370. Cymbals: All Paiste ‘Signature’ Series cymbals. 20” Dark, full Ride, 18” Power Crash, 16” Power Crash, 18” Paiste Sound Formula Reflector Full Crash, 1 pr 14” Dark Crisp Hi Hats - top cymbal is cracked. All cymbals stored inside a professional plywood, metal reinforced roadcase. Black with some stickers.
Hardware (one only, unless specified): disassembled DR-80 black anodized drum rack with 7 clamps, 2x CH-85 cymbal arms, 2x CH 88 cymbal arms, 2x TH-985 tom arms, TH 95 tom arm, H-850N hi-hat stand, S-850W snare stand, Promark clamp on drumstick holder, Zildjian stick caddy with approx 6 pairs of sticks, Tama Iron Cobra HP7OP bass drum pedal with felt beater. Stored in a cardboard ‘Pet Carry Box’.
