Cable music channel MTV is likely to lose its monopoly position in the USA. Recording companies Warners, Sony , EMI and Polygram are partners with Ticketmaster in establishing a 24 hour music channel. A music exec says of MTV, "It's no longer what it was in its purest form which is 24 hours of music programming." Meanwhile BMG is expected to team with U.S. Teiecommmunications 10.1 million subscriber cable company to start its own cable music video company. Mojo is a new magazine from the publishers of Q. In NZ now, the magazine is aimed at the 30 to 45 year old music fan. The first issue contains stories on Bob Dylan and John Lennon tripping together and features on Van Morrison and Dr.Feelgood.
