NEW SWR PRODUCTS AT NAMM SWR Engineering, one of the USA's top bass processor, amp and speaker manufacturers, released three new products at this year's NAMM show in California. The Basic 350 is a mono head with semi-parametric mid EQ, aural enhancer, limiter, valve front end and transistor output. It delivers 350 watts at 4 OHMS and 480 watts at 2 OHMS. The SM-900 is a stereo / Bi-Amp head which will deliver 350w + 350w at 4ohms or 900 watts mono bridged! It has two channels each with three band semi-parametric EQ, aural enhancer and a limiter. The front end features a valve pre-amp with the outputs transistor. To keep things cool, the amp is fan cooled. In a radical new approach to speaker design, SWR have released Henry the Bxß. This cabinet features eight 8” speakers and one tweeter. This 450 watt box weighs only 45kgs and is designed for very high level concert or large venue playing. (Distributed by Accusound NZ Ltd) DIMARZIO, EVOLUTION DPlsßandDPls9 The Evolution neck and bridge humbuckers are the result of two years of research to come up with the right sound for a very demanding player, Steve Vai. Both pickups are designed for maximum impact and power. The neck pickup is fat, punchy and loud. The bridge pickup is tight, aggressive and louder. Both pickups have DiMarzio's patented dual-resonance configuration. (Custom Music) PEARCE MID ELECTRO ACOUSTIC AMP Pearce Electronics, the American guitar and bass amp manufacturer, has just released the G3a, a three channel guitar combo amp and head. Channel one features a Valve pre-amp with incredible distortion and sustain. Channel two is a transistor pre-amp for crunch and rhythm sounds. Channel three has been designed specifically for acoustic guitar but operates equally well for clean electric. All three channels feature drive, three band EQ with sweepable mids and a volume control. There is an adjustable limiter and overall volume control. Every channel has its own effects loop as well as an overall loop. Power output is 100 watts and an extra power amp can be added for stereo as the pre-amps are all stereo. Channel selection is midi switchable with any combination or individual channel selectable. Optional midi footswitch is available, allowing control of effects units, channels and gain boost on each channel. (Accusound) KORG G 3 GUITAR PERFORMANCE PROCESSOR The G3's all digital internal effects include compressor, overdrive, distortion, EQ, flanger, chorus, rotary speaker, delay and reverb. They're easily edited by the effect parameter controls: drive, tone, speed, time and level. Up to six effects can be used at once to create an awesome array of sound possibilities. (Custom Music) NEW AUDIOPRO POWER AMPS Yorkville Sound is about to release two new power amplifiers. The Audiopro AP-600 and the Audiopro AP-3400. Both amps carry on the multi-tier high efficiency design found in the AP-3000 and AP-1200. The new amps are both two rack space designs, the AP-600 being a duel rail Mosfet output type, unique in this type of amplifier. Power output is 300w + 300w at 4 OHMS for the AP-600 and 1200w + 1200w at 4 OHMS for the AP-3400. (Accusound).
