DOG-FIGHT OVER!
Was it the "Dog Club" or the "Dog & Trumpet" or the 'Teddybears' Picnic", the Auckland venue on the corner of K'Rd and Newton Road has always had a "name" problem. But once again it's open as a regular venue for bands, and there's nothing woofy about the new name. The bar's now known by the name on the sign that's always been above the bloody door, the "Boardwalk Bar". A unique concept! Sharon McNabb is booking and the nice-size venue conveniently has an in-house PA, $250 to hire per night. There's no additional charge for bands to feature in the venue's Thursday newspaper advert. Thursday night will feature multi-bill solo acts. For upcoming gigs see the Calendar page 39. The gigs are listed as "Dog & Trumpet" but next month
we'll get it right. Woof! Sharon can be contacted at (09) 3761-900.
