THESE WILDING WAYS . / Take My Hand , (Tall Poppy) Michael O'Neil proves once and for all that he really does have the knack for writing hooky, chart-bound pop songs. This one comes with great neo-60s California Dreaming girl backing vocals and Michael himself sings bewitchingly, organ and wah-wah guitar enhance the -:,rexperience still further. Also included, . a remixed version of last year's single 'Can't Control Her' in which Wilding jl; Ways U2-like guitar riff gets some kind . of reverberation treatment from producer Mark Tierney, superimposing the song upon itself, ending with a prolonged doozied-out guitar solo and more 60s-style nah-nah-nah backing vocals. Slick. Also included, two - "demos" (though they sound pretty x slick as well). 'She Cries' and 'O'Rourkes', in which Michael O'Neil pays tribute to his roots with his version of an Irish drinking song. DONNA YUZWALK • • -
