Only days after the rioting in Los Angeles, the Australian music industry body Export Music Australia commenced a six night major export offensive, "The Wizards of Oz" at Los Angeles rock venue, the Palace. The artists showcased May 10-15: the Angels, Beatfish (Martin Plaza & James Freud), Yothu Yindi, Anna Christensen, Black Sorrows, Kate Ceberano, Club Hoy, Deborah Conway, Pearls & Swine, Poor Boys and Rick Price. EAAA's Brian Peacock explained the showcase concept: "We feel that the power of Australian music is best reflected in its live performance.
