LOU REED/JOHN CALE Songs for Drella Reed and Cale team up for the first time since the Velvets in the sixties. Reed describes this intimate studio recording as a "fictional look at the life of Andy Warhol." This music was originally commissioned for performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. A music event and a tribute a great man.

RENEGADE SOUNDWAVE Soundclash Threeraggamuffin wideboys from London with an avantgarde album that's miles ahead of any contenders. After two fab dance singles forthe Rhythm King label and appearing on the cover of NME, the guys recorded, their debut LP for the Mute label. The grooves owe more to King Tubby and the Clash than Stax or house. Includes remake of'l Can't Get Used to Losing You'. Far-out!.

ROBIN TROWER In the Line of Fire Once a founding member of Procul Harem, Trower's solo career took in the mid-70s and this post-Hendrix guitar genius toured, playing to 20,000 seat arenas and recording numerous solo album. Here he works with legendary rock producer Eddie Kramer (Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) to create such rock masterpieces as Turn the Volume Up'. Trower's back!

HIGHWAY 101 Paint the Town A modem country band who are now country legends Jack Daniels, Paulette Carlson, Curtis Stone and Cactus Moser. This collection of country classics, also includes their remake of James Taylor's 'Sweet Baby James', 'l'll Paintthe Town'and Roger Miller's Walkin' Talkin' Cryin' Barely Beatin' Broken Heart'. A classic modern country performance.

LOCKUP Something Bitchin' This Way Comes A new hard rock four-piece out of Southern California with their own distinctive approach. WILD ORCHID Original Movie Soundtrack This exotic movie stars Mickey Rourke and Jacqueline Bisset and the soundtrack features an evocative collection of World Music, Soca (four tracks by David Rudder), USA R&B and Euro-Mideast styles (Ofra Haza). Also contains tracks by Underworld and Hank Ballard.

ENERGY ORCHARD Energy Orchard An Irish band formed in London in 1986 by former Belfast residents. Theirearly power pop sound evolved into a hybrid of Celtic soul and classic rock. Their debut LP proves they're a band for the 90s and includes a remake of Van Morrison's'One Two Brown Eyes'.

NICK LOWE Party of One One of the dudes who masterminded the new wave of late 70s British pop, is back with another witty rockin' album accompanied by such ace players as Paul Carrack, Ry Cooder, Dave : Edmunds and Jim Keltner. NICK CAVE & BAD SEEDS The Good Son Cave and band recorded their new album in Sao Paulo in Brazil, October lastyearand mixed it in Berlin.
