Kevin Saunderson is an impressive individual, a major force in the creation of one of the more interesting styles of dance music to grace our turntables in along time.
With his group, Inner City, Saunderson has had three No.l US dance hits and has just released the album Big Fun, a luxurious journey into his techno world. As the man himself describes it, “the result is like George Clinton and Kraftwerk being stuck in an elevator with only a sequencer to keep them company.” Add to that Paris Grey’s honeyed vocals and the result can be quite a listening experience. The work of Inner City alone would be enough for most, yet Saunderson seems to work constantly, creating intensely sharp
remixes for everyone from New * Order to Sam Fox to Paula Abdul to Apollonia. Allin all, an awesome set ofachievements to confront, especially when your allotted interview time has been halved and the subject is sounding completely exhausted from a seemingly endless round of interviews, PA’s and general media jet-setting.
