The Atomic Cafe ... a full-length documentary created from American atomic propaganda of the 1940 s and 19505. With no narration, it tells its story by juxtaposing excerpts from recentlyunearthed government and military "bomb songs" which once filled the airwaves. The film's makers claim to reveal 15 years of concerted efforts by the US government and media to mislead the American public on nuclear warfare and atomic weapons testing. Starts this month. Yellowbeard ... a pirate spoof featuring a galaxy of comic talent. Features most of the Python team, Cheech and Chong, Marty Feldman, Peter Cook, Spike Milligan and others, including a brief cameo from A Certain Rock Star doing some less-than-serious moonlighting. Starts August. High Road to China ... Magnum PI star Tom Selleck has to find the millionaire inventor father of a young heiress before his former business associates can prove or "make" him dead. Starts August. Deathtrap ... a whodunnit-come-comedy based on the stage play of the same name by Ira Levin. Stars Michael Caine, Chris Reeves, Dyan Cannon. Directed by Sidney Lumet (Dog Day Afternoon). Starts July 15. Superman 3 ... aimed at a more adult audience this time round, also stars black comedian Richard Pryor, Superman attends Clark Kent's high school reunion and personal complications, including the rekindling of an old flame, develop. Starts August 12. Local Hero ... the film of the Mark Knopfler soundtrack. A comedy set in a little Scottish fishing village and starring Burt Lancaster as a Texas oil tycoon who gets involved with the locals. Starts August. Flash Dance ... a cast of unknowns in a movie about a young woman who yearns to be a dancer but has to spend her days working on a construction 'ite. The single from the film soundtrack went to the top of the US charts. Starts August. The Killing of America ... a controversial • film about the growth of violence in the USA. Made up of news film, photographs, interviews and music. Starts this month,
