Petty, Rats,Numan & ! Deyo! Rock’n’roll Xmas is back again with dates announced for three big tours, Tom Petty, Boomtown Rats and Devo arriving in May. Dates are being finalised for Gary Numan. MiSex will tour in rJune9fflHßQlflNHEaV| Dates for Petty are May 6 Christchurch Town Hall, May 8 Wellington; Majestic Theatre and [ May 9 Auckland Logan-Campbell Theatre (Epsom Showgrounds). With Damn The Torpedoes Petty has had his first hit album in the USA. Since then he has toured the US, had his tonsils removed and in March he toured the UK. . The Boomtown Rats. play Auckland Town j Hall May 14, Wellington Town Hall May 18 and Christchurch Town i Hall May 20. The tour is entitled ‘Boomtown Rats; Surface Downunder)Jljn. the UK they’ve had a second hit single off Fine Art of Surfacing, "Someone’s Looking At You”. In. recent months the band has been home to Ireland,' they , toured America ;in March and: in Feb guitarist Peter' Briquette married songstress Jane Aire. .The busy lads will bring a full e'uropean rig with them . including scaffolding for lights and Bob Geldof to hang 0n... does Bob know any good Irish jokes? 13 Devo dates are thought to be May 31, June 1 and 2.
