INQUESTS.

A magisteral inquiry was held at the Court House, Dunstan, on the sth July, 1863, by Jackson Keddell, Esq., Resident Magistrate, on the body of Hugh Mair, a miner, aged 35 years, who was accidentally killed by a slip of earth falling on him while working in the Government prospecting shaft on Dunstan Flat on the Ist July, 1563. Verdict accordingly. Deceased was a married man, . and is reported to have had a wife and two children living in Rose-street, Shepherd’s Paddock, Sydney.

A magisterial inquiry was held at the South side range, Moeraki, on the 6th -July, 1863, by ;J. W. Murdoch, Esq., on the body of Archibald Fullerton, aged 30 years, a labourer, who was accidentally killed by a slip of earth falling on him while working in a cutting on the new road on the 4th July 1863. Verdict accordingly.

-. A'. Coroner’s Inquest was held at the Pro-vincial-Hotel, Dunedin, on the Bth July, 1863, by Ihomas M. Ilocken, Esq., Coroner, on the bodies of the Rev; Thomas Hewett Campbell, aged 32 years, Julia M. Campbell, aged 28 years, Edward Campbell, aged 5 years, Duncan Campbell, aged 4 years, Muriel Campbell,

aged 3 years, Lillian Campbell, 14 months, Alfred Campbell, 5 weeks, Mary Roberts, 23 years,; Fanny Finch, 17 years, Elizabeth H.. Anderson, 28 years, Charles Somerville, aged 46 years, and William Hammond, aged 40 years;, who were drowned in the Dunedin Harbour on the evening of the 4th July, 1863, [ on board the steam vessel j[Vidc Rfr/MiXfiXdYho which l came?? in collision A with the 7 steam vessel Favorite. Verdict accordingly. ; The - Coroner’s Jury also finding a verdict of. Man-, slaughter. against the captain and mate of the Favorite.

A Coroner’s Inquest was held at the Water of Leith Hotel, Dunedin, on the 14th July, 1863, by Thos. M. Ilocken, Esq., coroner, on the body of Michael Tierney, aged 41 years, a jockey,. who was accidentally killed while attempting to leap his horse over a fence, in the North-east Valley on the 11th July,, 1863. Verdict accordingly.
