J ■ • . The cultivation of a garden is associated with so many rich rewards at the cost, of small efforti that one season’s trial is enough to turn the most lethargic into enthusiastic gardeners. Economy as well as pleasure can be found in -the garden : you can produce the every day necessities as well as the dainty flowers required to gladden and sweeten life. \\ hat greater joy can you give the children 'than a small flower garden of their own; if you have never let the children be responsible for a. small flower garden, do so this season. Have them keep a- record of seeds planted: when, germinated, when flowers bloomed, etc. —it, will not only be educational for them but with flowers from their own garden they may cheer the sick and aged, and what could be'more acceptable to Our Lady than flowers from- the garden of our little ones. Then again you can make your garden pay for itself: a few yards of ground is enough to supply the family with every vegetable need, with the result of better vegetables at little cost, better health, better exercise, natural pleasure and joy in seeing nature-produce to your hands’ work.
