OBITUARY

MR. PATRICK CODY, R TVER SD ALE. With very deep regret the death is recorded of Mr. Patrick Cody, who passed away peacefully at his residence, Sandstone, Riversdale, fortified by ” the last rites of Holy Church. The late Mr. Cody was born in Co Galway, Ireland, 71 years ago. At an early age he went to America, and after spending a few years there came to New Zealand. He married soon after arriving here and for some time resided at Heddon Bush. In the early seventies Mr. Cody removed to the Riversdale district, where, with his sons, he successfully carried on farming pursuits. Mr. Cody took a keen interest in the affairs of his native land, and was an ardent Sinn Feiner. He leaves a wife and family of six sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. A brother of Mr. Cody’s (Mr. L. Cody) resides at Heddon Bush.—R.l.P. MRS. MARY O’SULLIVAN, CHRISTCHURCH. , r With very deep regret the death is recorded of Mrs. Mary O Sullivan, of Christchurch, who passed away after a brief illness on July 6. The late Mrs. O’Sullivan was born at Lurgan, Co. Down, Ireland, 63 years ago and arrived in New Zealand when quite a young girl/ She received her education from the Sisters of the Mission, Christchurch. Her gentle and unassuming manner and ready sympathy gained for her many friends who will mourn her loss. During her illness she was attended by bather Seymour, and she passed away fortified by all the sacred rites of. Holy Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated for the repose of her soul by Father Seymour, who also officiated at. the graveside. Mrs. O’Sullivan leaves her husband and eight .children to mourn the loss of a good wife and mother. Her long and saintly life will be to them a comforting memory and an assurance of her eternal happiness.—R.l.P.
