(From our own correspondent.) July 3. Rev. Father F. J. Dignan, P.P., whose departure was delayed owing to altered steamer arrangements, left Wellington by the Remuera, en route to Ireland on an extended holiday, carrying with him the best wishes of his parishioners for bon voyage and safe return. Rev. Father Murphy, of St. Benedict’s, Auckland, relieved here temporarily; and Father Brennan, of Auckland, is now in charge of the parish until Father Dignan returns. During the month of Juno devotions in honor of the Sacred Heart were held each evening, and were well attended, The Convent Schools have reopened, but the attendance is below the average owing to influenza still prevailing in these parts.
