(From our own correspondent.) The many friends of Mrs. Fraher, of Karoro, will be pleased to hear that she has made a good recovery from her recent severe illness. Father Fraher, of Hastings, who was called home, left again last week. Owing to the big effort on behalf of the Copper Trail in aid of the Red Cross Society funds, all activities in connection with the Dean Carew Memorial Bazaar have been suspended for the last two months. Now that the Copper Trail has been brought to a successful conclusion it is to be hoped that the various stall-holders will again throw out the challenge, as the success of the bazaar depends essentially on their efforts. Already a large sum has been collected for the memorial, including several very handsome donations, but the fund still needs augmenting to a considerable extent. Donations will be thankfully received, and exWest Coasters are asked to contribute a few bricks to the memorial which is to be erected to the memory of the grand old man of the West Coast. \
