ST. PATRICK’S BRANCH. ; . ; ;•>. r ." The ordinary meeting of St. Patrick’s branch was held in the Hibernian Hall on January ,21. Bro, Jacques, 8.P.,' presided, and there was a splendid attendance of members. The Rev. Father Long: (chaplain) was also present. Sick ; pay amounting I to £3 and -accounts for £62 3s 6d were passed for payment. The principal accounts were contributions to the district as follows: -To supplementary sick fund, £l3 18s 2d; district funeral fund, £l7 its; district management fund, £7 11s Bd, as well as £6 for regalia (presented ; to St. Matthew’s Ladies’ branch), and maternity allowance, £4. Two nominations for membership were received. The membership of the branch is now 360. The balance sheet was read, discussed, and adopted, and the auditors’ report was most satisfactory. The sick and funeral fund showed an increase of £46 9s for the quarter, the incidental fund an increase of £9B 18s 4d, whilst the benevolent fund is holding just in the neighborhood of £4O. The branch accepted with regret the resignation by Bro. J. Flannelly of the various offices held by him, he having gone to camp as a member of the expeditionary reinforcements. ST. MARY’S BRANCH. The ordinary meeting of St. Mary’s branch was held in Ozanam Lodge on Monday evening, February 4. B.P, Bro. J. Ormandy presided, and there was a full roll of officers and a good attendance of members. Sick allowance to the amount of £1 was passed for payment; also accounts amounting to £6 7s 6d. Bro. J. O’Connor having resigned his position as warden, Bro. J. Olin was elected to the position. One nomination for membership was received; P.P. Bro. T. Y. Wagstaff was presented, on behalf of the branch, by the Rev. Father Roche (chaplain) with a past 'president’s collar. Father Roche referred to the valued services rendered the branch by Bro. Wagstaff, the president, secretary, and various other members also mentioning the good work done by Bro. Wagstaff in the interests of the branch. Bro. Wagstaff vratefully acknowledged the valued gift and accompanying kind remarks. ST. MATTHEW’S (LADIES’) BRANCH. St. Matthew’s (Ladies’) branch held a meeting in the Hibernian Hall on February 4. The president (Sister E. Brophy) presided, and there were present the Rev. Father T. Hanrahan (chaplain), a full roll of officers, and a good number of members. Two previously nominated candidates, were elected and duly initiated by • the • president. The quarterly balance sheet was presented by the secretary (Sister R. Rodgers) and met with the approval of the branch, all the funds showing the branch to be «in a good financial position. It was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Sister McGuinness on the death of her mother, also a letter of thanks to Mr. C. Geoghegan for having framed the branch dispensation free of charge. At the conclusion of business a social was held in honor of the approaching marriage of the branch’s .first secretary (Sister; C. Nelson). Rev. Father T. ‘ Hanrahan, on behalf of the sisters; presented Sister Nelson with a' handsome tray and afternoon >• tea-set - and referred in eulogistic terms to 1 the splendid y service rendered by hereto the branch, particularly in its initial stage.
