11l the hockey contests, St. Joseph's A grade met and defeated Waiata by 7 goals to 1. Scorers for St. Joseph's—J. Murray (4), O. Murray (2), and M. Dunford. St. Joseph's B. grade were defeated by 1 goal to nil. In the A grade schools' competition, the Christian Brothers' football team beat High School by 2 goals to nil. V. Spain kicked both goals. In the C grade the Brothers were again successful defeating High School easily by 4 goals to nil, the goal-kickers being Marshall (2), Cronin, and Farrell.

A meeting of the executive of the Catholic Women’s Belgian Sewing Guild was held in St. Joseph’s Hall on Monday, June 4. The various suburbs were -represented. A. short sketch of the work of the guild since its inception in March, 1915, was read by the secretary. It was decided, now that America has taken over the Belgian relief, that the executive as at present constituted, disband, but the hope was expressed that it would not cease to exist as a working guild. In furtherance of that hope, a meeting of Catholic women will be held in St. Joseph’s Hall on Wednesday, June 13, at 8.15 p.m., at which a large attendance is expected.
