Christchurch
(From an occasional correspondent.) The Sisters of the Mission, Lower High street, Christchurch, having already obtained from the North Canterbury Education Board the recognition of their secondary school as an efficient equivalent of the State secondary schools for the taking out of scholarships, applied under the terms of the new Education Act for the same recognition from the central Department of Education in 'Wellington. They received word from the Education Department last week that this request was granted, and that their secondary school, known as the Sacred Heart Girls’ College, is now recognised by the Minister of Education as a fully qualified secondary school.
