MR. RICHARD JAMES, AUCKLAND.

Mr. Richard James, a well-known resident of. Auckland, died somewhat , suddenly; on : March 28, during a train journey from Lower Waikato to Auckland. He was - a native .. of Victoria, k but with his parents came to New Zealand from Tasmania at an early age. He lived for a time in Christchurch and Sydney, and, for many years prior to his death, in Auckland. He was of a kindly and generous disposition, .and was exceedingly well liked by all with whom he was associated. His remains were brought* to St. Patrick’s, Cathedral, where, a Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Murphy, Adm. The inter T ment ' took place in the' Symond Street Cemetery,, beside his mother, - daughter, and son, and Rev. Father Murphy; officiated at the graveside, iHe left a widow, three daughters .
